Lambs from ewes fed 100iu Vitamin E/day suckle quicker and have a lower mortality than those from ewes fed lower levels of Vitamin E (just 0.66kg of ECV ewe feed delivers 100iu Vitamin E).

Selenium is crucial to lamb survival, most importantly it is involved in the shiver mechanism that lambs use to turn brown fat into energy. ECV Ewe feeds contain 0.5mg/kg Selenium for efficient uptake.
