Oilseed Rape

ECV has signed up a significant number of Growers on Energy contracts whereby conventional rapeseed on non-set-aside land is grown for use in biofuel. This scheme brings an additional gross €45 /ha of area aid on their oilseed rape which is paid directly to the grower.
The seed must be supplied to ECV and crushed for biofuel within 2 years. Some of the €45 will have to be clawed-back to cover security costs required to set the scheme up with Rural Payments Agency
